Let Freedom Ring

“From every mountainside, let freedom ring” -Martin Luther King Jr.

Today we celebrate our freedom, our rights as American citizens. But what is freedom? Oxford dictionary defines it as “the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint.” Most people have forgotten this, they see the Constitution in an ambiguous manner (mostly due to schools not truly teaching it). Or they see it as something evil due to the lies that are spread every day. They see it as something divisive, which is utterly and completely irrational.

The American dream comes from opportunity. The opportunity comes from our founding principles, our core values that’s held together and protected by the Constitution. Those ideas are neither Republican, Democrat, conservative, liberal, white, or black. Those are American ideologies.” – Ted Yoho

We as a nation have yet to obtain a proper understanding of what our founders fought for. Day by day, we lose more and more of our rights and liberties, all the while remaining clueless about this truth. When I say this, I’m not elevating myself in terms of knowing the Constitution like the back of my hand. I have a long way to go in my pursuit of a greater awareness, but I am trying. I am doing my best to use the internet as it was intended; to seek truth and educate myself. What I have learned has lent the understanding of how powerful the people can be, and how the lack of comprehending will lead to our demise as a nation.

“Our Constitution works; our great republic is a government of laws and not of men. Here, the people rule.” – Gerald R. Ford

Our history has proven that we have come close to losing our way many times, and the the “comebacks” are true miracles.

“The happy Union of these States is a wonder; their Constitution a miracle; their example the hope of Liberty throughout the world” -James Madison

I can’t tell if the coming years will be the end of what our forefathers fought so hard for. But if we gain the wisdom that’s right at our fingertips, we could easily turn around from where we are headed. The more you research how our constitution came to be (from a truthful source), I know it will light a fire in your soul as it does in mine. Truth has become distorted, it’s mind-boggling.

“The liberties of our country, the freedom of our civil constitution, are worth defending against all hazards. And it is our duty to defend them against all attacks.” – Samuel Adams

Can we defend it though? Can we stand together united? Will we leave this self-centered culture that keeps growing and festering? Will we stop listening to these so-called “experts” that are telling us how to live and constantly feeding lies? Can we overcome the level of laziness that brought forth all these issues?

“As the Constitution endures, persons in every generation can invoke its principles in their own search for greater freedom.” – Anthony Kennedy

There’s a pervading thought that seems to grow every day. It’s the belief that due to the age of the Constitution, it no longer applies to us. That couldn’t be more further from the truth.

“The Constitution of the United States was made not merely for the generation that then existed, but for posterity- unlimited, undefined, endless, perpetual posterity.” – Henry Clay

To know the past and the pain of what they went through will always lead to a promising future. It will lead to a more efficient government and an understanding of right and wrong. It will lend courage and motivation. It will open your eyes to just what our soldiers are doing for us and have done. Your eyes will be opened in a new way when you hear the pledge of allegiance, it will stir your soul and leave a yearning that won’t depart. I will always be proud to be an American, and patriot to this amazing country.
